…parks, beaches, history and sporting activities for all
What the district has to offer
This much-loved, historic and beautiful district of ours has much to offer visitors. For culture, there are museums, archaeological areas and of course there is the countryside. For food and drink, you can start with the estate’s own “Limonaia” and there are numerous excellent restaurants nearby. For the more active, there is the sea and the various water sports it offers as well as dozens of trekking and mountain-bike trails that take in – more nature!
Each and every guest is guaranteed to find the holiday they want!
Here are just a few examples of what to do and what we can book for you to do too:
There is the Baratti & Populonia Archaeological Park with its Etruscan Acropolis and Necropolis, the Archaeo-mineral Park in San Silvestro, the Sterpaia Nature Reserve and the WWF site at Orti Bottagone. Then there are hiking trails, underwater exploration with Baratti Diving, horse trekking, a sailing school, the Populonia Borgo and Castello Museum – complete with the Gasparri (private) archaeological collection, or why not experience for yourself the archaeological dig in Poggio Molino, mountain-bike trails and free-riding, trips along the coast by taxi boat and visits to other local wine estates.
Then there are the many events, celebrations and festas organized in the streets and piazzas of towns and villages nearby that provide yet more opportunities to see, experience and taste even more of what the district has to offer.
The Tenuta Poggiorosso Glamping also benefits from being within easy distance of s Siena, Florence and Pisa, the great historic and art cities of Tuscany.
